Does Mach work in every app?
Mach works in most Mac apps with an editable text field. Accessibility permission is required for automatic pasting.
Does Mach need the internet?
Yes. Speech recognition and Refined cleanup use online services, so an active connection is required.
What is the difference between Raw and Refined?
Raw returns the speech-to-text transcript without AI cleanup. Refined makes one cleanup pass for punctuation, grammar, filler, formatting, tone, dictionary terms, and language preferences while preserving your meaning.
Can I switch languages inside one sentence?
Yes, when Multilingual mode is selected and both languages are among its 10 supported languages. For other languages, choose one exact language per dictation.
Can Mach write Hindi or Japanese with Latin letters?
Yes, where the Writing style option is shown. Hindi can use Hinglish, Japanese can use Romaji, and other eligible scripts offer Latin output. Romanization applies in Refined mode.
Why does Mach need two macOS permissions?
Microphone access captures your voice during dictation. Accessibility access pastes the finished text into the focused app.
What should I put in the custom dictionary?
Add names, product spellings, abbreviations, and specialist terms that are often written incorrectly. Dictionary guidance is applied during Refined cleanup.
What is included for free?
The free plan includes 2,500 words per month. Pro is $6 per month for unlimited words.
